Brooke & Patrick Get Married

Another gorgeous day for another gorgeous couple! Brooke and Patrick were married today in Patrick's parents' home outside of the Twin Cities, and it was a really beautiful setting for the celebration. The beautiful gardens, the pool and the sun peeping through the trees was just lovely. The couple incorporated old family wedding photos for a personal touch and pink peonies accompanied the cocktail tables as well as the centerpieces and bouquets. Their three siblings stood witness for the couple as they said their vows and become husband and wife.

Brooke took a DYI approach with the pink, coral and orange tissue poms-- over 70 were made! They hung organically from the tent ceiling creating pops of color on the white backdrop. Bright and fresh summer colors continued on the table runners with varying patterns and then tied all together with lanterns and rose petals on every table serving as the centerpiece.

This 'backyard wedding' is one to live up to! Here are a few of my favorites from today! Brooke and Patrick thank you for letting me capture your day, I hope you enjoy the images!

Eric & Emily: Engagement

This evening's light was wonderful! I had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful couple's engagement session and it was so fun! Granted, this is partially due to having some fun with the bright-setting-sun but also because these two love birds are dear friends of mine. Memory lane brings us way back on this one... if I recollect correctly, I have known the Groom-To-Be for nearly fifteen years. Besides the fact that times flies and I feel OLD trailing back that far in my mind, it was an absolute honor to be able to photograph Eric with his lovely Bride-To-Be, Emily. (who of course I have known for quite some time as well :) )

We strolled, drove really, around St. Paul tonight going to locations that we all knew about to get just some of the gorgeous aspects of this city, and to capture the love of course between these two! Starting at St. Kate's gorgeous campus, then making our way up to the Summit Hill area, stopped at a community garden, back into the Crocus Hill cobblestone roads and across the high bridge to get a skyline view of the city and the setting sun. Eric and Emily were very relaxed in front of the camera, which of course is always awesome! I loved capturing Emily's spontaneous giggles and Eric's adorning eyes at his fiancee. You can't feel anything but elated around these two!

I can't wait for their wedding this winter! I really LOVE so many of tonight's shots, I will I could put them all up... but for now I instead have a select few of my favorites. Enjoy!

p.s. Check out that ring!

Growing TOO fast!

This morning I had the pleasure of starting my day photographing two of the cutest and sweetest kiddos. These two adorable little ones are kids of great, great friends of mine and I feel ever-so-lucky every time I get to capture their growing little faces. The weather today of course is gorgeous, lots of sunshine and pretty warm for 9 a.m. so these two absolutely loved splashing around in the fountain.

Addie and Owen are so fun to watch, and to photograph, play with one another. Just recently a walker, Owen loves playing chase with his big sister! One day he will be able to keep up with her! Addie watches and plays with her little brother so tenderly and sweetly! (Once they are teenagers these images will be proof that they got along once... ;) )

Here are a few of my favorites from today! Enjoy!

Megan and Tim Get Married

Man was the weather cooperative today! All week it has said nothing but thunderstorms for today BUT it was mostly sunny-- and hot! Megan and Tim got married today and besides having a beautiful wedding, mother nature was on their side! It literally rained while it was time to be inside and then stopped when it was time to take photos outside! Right on schedule.

Megan and Tim's ceremony and reception took place at the Afton Alps Chalet in Hastings. Covered in windows on one side, the ceremony and reception were blessed with the beautiful variations of light from today's weather. Accenting the bride and groom's choices of purples, soft pinks, sage and candlelight. The chalet by itself has a rustic feel and the decorations and centerpieces of today's event added to it with twine wrapped vases, mason jars for the bouquets, lanterns lit with candles and covered with river rocks.

I have the pleasure of working with Megan and I LOVED hearing about all of the details as her planning developed and I loved it even more seeing it all pulled together today. Megan maintained a monogram theme of 'M&T' throughout the decorations including the programs, invites, the cake topper and moss covered letters adorning one wall. Family dedication was given with grandparents' and parents' wedding photos and a lattice filled timeline of photos of Megan and Tim. The chalet really was filled with personal touches everywhere! There was a candy bar that filled the guests belly's before and after dinner, as well as probably after the reception as the bride made sure there were to-go baggies! One of my favorite moments of the day was when Megan and her father walked down the aisle to Elvis' 'Can't Help Falling In Love'. A slightly unexpected, but personal, choice!

During the toasts everyone got to hear how Megan and Tim met. The matchmakers took pride in their matchmaking skills as the happy couple celebrated their marriage today! Lots of laughter and joy for everyone!

I feel so honored to have taken these photos today, and even more so getting to share them here! Here are a few of my favorites from today. (It really wasn't an easy choice....) Enjoy!!
