Stacy & Mike Get Married!

Today was such a wonderful day! Stacy and Mike were married and they have definitely won the award for cutest friggin' couple! Like two teenagers in love, this bride and groom knew how to bring on the romance and googley eyes. All. Day. Long. At one point I even had to tell them to stop looking so happy! ;)

Mike and Stacy were married in a gorgeous Woodbury church, King of Kings Lutheran Church where we also did an improvised first sight to dodge the rain!  The whole day was focused around family as Stacy and Mike not only became a family together today but each of their two children became family too; making an incredibly happy and loving family of six. Even their guests had a wonderful sense of togetherness as families mingled and greeted one another.

The rain had poured during the indoor ceremony and luckily had stopped by the time we were headed to Tartan Park Golf Course for the couple's outdoor (plus pavilion) reception. There was plenty of room for the kids, and some adults, to run and play throughout the whole evening. Tartan has gorgeous landscaping and a beautiful after-rain-fog showed up just in time for some shots of the happy couple. A picnic-style buffet was prepared, and freshly grilled, by Prom Catering. So fresh and oh-so filling.

The remainder of the evening was just filled with laughter and fun conversations. Mike and Stacy started off with a very romantic first dance and then the kids had to warm up the dance floor before adults finally joined in. Definitely a bonus watching the younger generation learn the macarena! :)

Stacy and Mike, thank you for having us capture your day and witness your family becoming even bigger! Enjoy your sneak peek! (I had a hard time narrowing it down...)

Mona & Rassam Get Married!

Oh the bling! Mona and Rassam's wedding was decked out tonight in rhinestones and jewels. The cake, the dress, the shoes (omg, the shoes!) the bouquet, the centerpieces... this bride had a vision and it was executed beautifully! Sparkle, sparkle, everywhere on the 50th floor of the IDS Tower in Windows on Minnesota in Minneapolis.

After getting ready in the presidential suite of the Marquette Hotel, Mona and Rassam had the grandest of entrances into their ballroom for their reception. Having been married early this year, the bride was escorted by her parents into the ballroom and symbolically was given to Rassam in front of all of their family and friends. At the same moment, a three person band was joyously playing music for the zaffa as a part of Mona and Rassam's traditional dance. It was my first experience of a zaffa and it was magnificent! So much joy was filling the room between the music and the cheering and the clapping!! Such a great experience.

Following the zaffa, the couple really made sure their guests felt welcome as each table was called to have their photo taken with the bride and groom in a gorgeous canopy area. It was so lovely to see all of the well wishes and smiles from all of this couple's guests as they strolled through for their pictures. Music and video were provided by Complete Music and the music definitely kept the dance floor going!

Please enjoy the sneak peek! I can't wait to sit down and relive this whole day again through my computer screen!

Colton and Jessi Get Married

Where to start?! First, this is the first wedding of a very busy season here at Depict and I cannot wait to share this with all of you as well as so many great weddings to come! Goal of season is to post same day, or at least later that night as this won't be posted before midnight, blog posts so that everyone can enjoy the day all over again! Fingers crossed I reach this goal! :)

Enough of that biz-stuff now. Today Jessi and Colton were married and what an adorable couple!! So many personal touches and patterns and color and style! Between the bow-ties and donuts this wedding really had it all! They really had a great mix of hipster and dapper all throughout. They even made up their own last name by combining their current last names-- how cool! Jessi and Colton really made sure to make this day represented them as a couple.

All pre-ceremony photos were taken in Aloft Hotel and surrounding areas. Aloft is such a fun space to use! You'd almost wish for it to be a rainy day on your wedding so you "had" to take photos inside (we did both)! Jessi and Colton chose mint and gold for their wedding day colors. The groom was snazzy with suspenders and bow-tie to dress up his sharp suit. The bride was stunning in her full lace vintage-style Watters gown from The Wedding Shoppe, handmade belt and Betsyville necklace. And her shoes, fantastic!

We headed to Ambient Gallerie (the event space with many different hats, so to speak) for the ceremony and reception. The ceremony was officiated by a friend so there was plenty of personal touches and laughter! Completed with a unity painting, which brought a ton of laughter as the couple had a little trouble dumping the paint out of the cups, and then everyone raised a glass (including the wedding party) to the happy couple before they walked down the aisle.

The evening was spent with some pretty great dancing (seriously, check out the dancing shots!) and delicious treats. Enjoy the sneak peek everyone and keep an eye out for more posts!
