Kayla & Evan Get Married!

You know those days where they just fly by due to having so much fun? Well, that was today! And an extra bonus, an awesome couple got married today too! Kayla and Evan are now hitched. :) Stillwater was our backdrop and sunshine provided the heat on this lovely Minnesota fall day. Even from the moment Kayla and Evan's engagement session there was nothing but laughter. (I've actually never laughed so hard during a session.) And that was the tone for today as well. Kayla and her maids were stress free and funny as can be all afternoon. There was even a bit of a sing-a-long session as we waited for the guys to arrive!

The second Kayla mentioned rooftop options for the first sight I did a happy dance! Rooftop? Always a yes! Kayla met her groom on the sun-drenched rooftop in her gorgeous white pencil dress from Etsy. And Evan couldn't stop smooching his bride! Evan sported a sharp gray suit accented by amazing hand-made paper flower boutonniere made by Kayla! In fact, all of the bouquets and boutonnieres were made by Kayla and her amazing paper flowers (future business name? Ha!) She used a mix of different papers and materials including coffee filters and crepe paper. Kayla also admitted to subconsciously being inspired by Mad Men seeing as she watched the entire series while she made the flowers. It paid off! :)

Both of them are such a sweet and laid back couple and they really wanted that to be what their day was. So, we casually strolled around downtown with their wedding party for photos before heading to Pioneer Park for the ceremony. No pressure, no shot list. Just a great bunch of people! :) Evan's sister officiated the wedding and it was so personal with lots of sweet laughter as she spoke about the couple. I definitely had a tear or two during the personally written vows.

The party began just a half mile away from the park at The Loft at Studio J... Such a great space! A mix of vintage and industrial and glam at every turn! Even the bathrooms were to die for... And we definitely utilized them for a photo op! Quite a unique location. A wonderful and delicious buffet was provided by Brie Cater. I had the great pleasure to accompany Janea and Amber with Rosetree Events in today's events as they served as today's wedding planners. Honestly, the day ran perfectly due to their behind the scenes ass-kicking! Having a wedding planner can really be priceless. Last but not least, Queen of Cakes provided a quaint two-teared cake with understated yet lovely blue ombre decor.

The newlyweds took to the dance floor for their first dance to "Sh-Boom (Life Could Be A Dream)" sung by a jazz combo. Seriously awesome! Kayla and Evan then invited all of their guests after a few versus to join them and there were some fancy dancers on that dance floor! I bet those fancy dance moves took the night away!

Kayla and Evan, enjoy your quick recap of your wedding day! It was a pleasure!
