Tony & Renata Get Married!

Love at first sight is real everyone... Renata and Tony are living proof! Totally one of those romantic comedies where the couple's eyes meet in a work environment, smiles are exchanged and after hours of conversation during a work outing: love. Like the snap of your finger and there it is, the one you're supposed to be with. At least that is how it was for today's happy couple.

So, Renata is Brazilian and Tony is Apple Valley-ian. After just a few months and a few trips to visit Renata in Brazil after their training program (where they met) had ended, they both knew what they had found and knew it was forever. So, they started forever, right away! Between hours upon hours of Skyping and a few more visits, we have a true love at first tale. My favorite part of this story is that when Tony was in Brazil ready to propose, he first learned Portuguese to be able to ask for her parents' blessing. So very sweet and thoughtful. And just after a few months of planning and booking vendors, today went off without a hitch.

Both the ceremony and reception took place at the gorgeous Carlson Center Events. Waiting to see each other until the ceremony, Tony worked really hard on keep it together when he saw his bride as she stunned in her lace ball gown and fingertip veil. The gown is actually from Brazil and her parents traveled with it for the wedding. Totally worth the extra baggage. =) She was a trooper with all of that tulle! And quite thankful for the not-too-hot weather we had today as well. Tony was a perfectly dapper groom for his beautiful bride in a simple black suit and tie.

The lovely ceremony was led by a pastor from Tony's family church. Turns out, that the church was welcoming a new pastor around the time their planning began, who was from Brazil! Both he and his wife were fantastic today helping translate for Renata's parents and sang a lovely bi-lingual song during the ceremony. After a sweet kiss to seal the deal, Renata and Tony's love story was near complete. For this chapter anyway. (Man, I get sappy as the hours tick by...)

During cocktail hour a plethora of appetizers were passed by the Carlson's in-house caterer, Bon Appetit. Guests mingled and enjoyed the lovely grounds as well. Followed by being welcomed into the beautiful rotunda for the reception that was lit up with twinkle lights and the rushing sound of the water fountain. Bon Appetit's staff was swift and such a pleasure to observe. Dinner opened with a hilarious and personal speech from Tony's father; sharing his perspective of watching Tony fall in love was so sweet.

Jimmy from Instant Request was great! Super personable and really worked with the couple, and us, to make sure everything ran smoothly. The dance floor lit up after the first dance and co-father-daughter/mother-son dance. These guests were ready to party!

Renata and Tony, I am so happy to have been a part of your day! Enjoy your sneak peek!
