Danielle was truly glowing in her satin wedding gown from the Wedding Shoppe. The maids' dresses, also from the Wedding Shoppe, were so unique with a lace back and pleated hip. The navy was a perfect contrast with the rich and full fall colors from the bouquets from A. Johnson and Son's Flowers. Seeing the gorgeous fall colors was such a refreshing change as the seasons change. Adding crisp, light tan suits for the men made for a lovely variety of tones.
One of my favorite venues this year has been the St. Paul College Club on Summit Ave. It is a one-stop shop without feeling like a factory-made wedding. A truly beautiful setting. The backyard serves as a beautiful ceremony space and today as the sun shone through with a light fall breeze, the happy couple said their vows with lots of smiles and laughter. Their two daughters were just adorable standing up as flower girl and junior bridesmaid along with the other wedding party members. They did quite well too. Less fidgety than most adults! Danielle and Randy sealed the deal with a kiss and had even bigger smiles as they floated back down the aisle as husband and wife.
Drinks were aplenty during the cocktail hour and guests were able to enjoy a live jazz trio from Cookies and Cognac. A quadruple threat vendor as they were also the officiant, violinist, and DJ for the day! Talk about a one-stop shop! They were very attentive and at one point I even watched the DJ help remove the extra tables before the dance! The evening flowed quite well from one event to the next thanks to these guys and of course, the amazing staff at the club.
Toasts followed shortly after dinner from the bride's sister and groom's twin brother. Just a few tears from the matron of honor as she teased her sister a bit and told her how proud she was. Randy received an official welcome into the family although clearly he has been a big part of it for quite some time. The best man spoke of the healthy competition brothers can have but overall how great it was having Randy by his side always. The bride's father took the cake so to speak when it came to the best toast award. Most of the bridesmaids had their napkins out ready to dab away tears before he even began to speak! He is a father that is quite proud and honored by both of his daughters. Having lost their mother years back, both the bride and her sister (and everyone really) were touched by her father's words. Such a sweet moment.
So, every great wedding has a dance! Danielle and Randy warmed up their dance floor with a sweet first dance. Their oldest daughter hopped in for a few twirls herself before giving the spotlight to Randy and his mother and Danielle and her father in a combo parent dance. It is becoming a fairly common trend to have a little late night snack or treat at weddings these days. Well, tonight... there was a make it yourself s'more's bar!! Best. Idea. Ever. It was the perfect atmosphere with the twinkle lights lit up and the cool fall air. On top the unique birch tree-esque cake from Buttercream, everyone's sweet tooth was taken care of.
Danielle and Randy, it was a pleasure getting to be a part of your wedding day! Enjoy this recap! Does it feel real yet? ;-)
